Fruit Picking at Cutri Fruit 

Job overview

Picking fruit is a physically demanding job that requires climbing ladders and carrying bags that can weigh up to 15 kgs. This job is mostly recommended for fit and motivated individuals who have the ability to adapt to different work environments and can handle working in the heat.


New pickers are trained accordingly to ensure that fruit is picked correctly to colour and size specifications set by management.


What months is the job for?

October until March (starting and finishing dates vary from year to year).


What you need to bring?

1. Long-sleeved shirt

2. Broad brimmed hat

3. Sunglasses

4. Well-fitting, non-slip, covered footwear.

5. Long pants or long shorts.

6. Sunscreen

7. Drink bottle and food


Occupational Health and Safety

Before starting work, new employees are given information about safe work procedures. Detailed information about sun protection, ladder safety and tractor safety is provided and it is expected that employees adhere to these directives and work in a safe and responsible manner.


As part of this process, employees must advise management of any pre-existing injuries.

Grading and packing at Cutri Fruit

Job Overview

Graders and packers are required to have a vigilent approach to visually assessing the quality of the fruit. This job is suited for individuals who are looking for less physically demanding work but have the ability to stay concentrated for long periods of time. 


On the job training is provided to new employees and therefore the minimum period of work available for grading positions is 3 months. 


What months is the job for?

Mid-October - March (starting and finishing dates vary from year to year).


What you need to bring? 

1. Well-fitting, non-slip, covered footwear.
